Balanced Breastfeeding is a lactation consulting center that offers tender, safe, kind, and equitable care and guidance for their clients.
When the founder, Katie Madden, was ready for a complete overhaul of her business and branding she reached out to see if I could help with the vision for her new digital home. Katie is well respected in the lactation community but her website and branding didn’t reflect what an important asset she is for families she serves.
When I met with Katie, she made it clear she wanted to simplify her website while enhancing her brand with a sense of nurturing and understanding. When people visit her site, she wanted them to feel like they had landed in a safe place. I knew that using a palette of various skin tones was perfect for this special project. The inviting colors along with a friendly modern font, used only in lowercase letters, work perfectly together to create a space where all feel seen and welcome.
One of Katie’s clients is an amazing photographer and Katie enlisted her to take some pictures of some families that work with Balanced Breastfeeding. The results are stunning! It isn’t often I get the opportunity to work with such beautiful brand photography. I added hand drawn backgrounds that add texture and depth to the brand as well as rounded image frames that evoke the softness of newborns. There are plenty of customizations on this site including the branded slide in navigation, overlapping hand painted section dividers, and custom bullets.
The result is a beautiful easy to navigate website that is richly textured. It is perfectly aligned with Katie’s desire for her clients to feel a sense of being held in safety, love and warmth when they find her online home. The new brand and website were very well received by Katie’s existing clients. She now feels super confident to share her website knowing that is truly a reflection of how she approaches her work with families.
